Jen Affleck, a star of Secret Lives of Mormon Wives, has filed for divorce from her husband, Zac, after seven years of marriage. According to TMZ, she submitted the divorce petition in Utah earlier this week, along with a proposed parenting plan. The reasons for their separation have not been disclosed.
Jen and Zac met on the Mormon dating app Mutual in 2018 and married the following year. They have three children together: Nora, Lucas, and Penelope, and Jen is currently pregnant with their fourth child. Their relationship has faced challenges, which have been highlighted in multiple seasons of Secret Lives of Mormon Wives. These issues included Zac’s gambling addiction and Jen’s experiences with MomTok.

After leaving medical school, Zac struggled with being a stay-at-home dad. Jen has mentioned that they sought therapy, which helped improve their relationship. However, in the latest season, Jen felt that Zac did not support her career ambitions, including her goal of appearing in Sports Illustrated. She noted that Zac’s upbringing emphasized modesty, which he expected from women around him.
While trying to honor Zac’s traditional values, Jen found it challenging to navigate her career goals. She indicated that Zac had threatened to divorce her if she pursued acting roles that involved romantic relationships with others.
When Jen transitioned from the original Secret Lives of Mormon Wives to the spinoff Secret Lives of Mormon Wives: Orange County, Zac did not participate in filming. After Jen announced her pregnancy in July, fans noticed that Zac was absent from her social media photos. In September, he faced criticism when DeuxMoi shared images of Jen lifting heavy items during a move. In response, Zac posted a video of himself helping with the move, claiming they had become “expert movers.”
