Millennials have faced labels like entitled, lazy, and overly sensitive for a long time. Now, they are joining in the fun by poking fun at themselves. A Reddit discussion asked Millennials to share what they dislike about their generation, and many responded with various complaints. They talked about issues like delayed maturity, parenting styles, and even the use of certain words, showing that they take these topics to heart. Here are some things Millennials have roasted themselves over.
Many pointed out that despite claiming they are different from older generations, they often end up making the same criticisms about younger generations. Some noted that they see similarities in how they describe Gen Z and Alpha, using terms like lazy and unmotivated. They shared frustrations about how their friends deny these parallels.

Others expressed disappointment about how long it took them to become adults. They mentioned that there’s a fine line between being childlike and being childish, and they feel they cross it too often. This sentiment was echoed by those who find it strange that people in their 30s still struggle with making simple appointments.
Some Millennials feel that they are stuck in nostalgia more than previous generations. They also pointed out that some of them act older than they truly are, voicing confusion over peers who prioritize going to bed early over socializing.
The topic of parenting also stirred mixed feelings. Some Millennials believe they have shifted from gentle parenting to being overly permissive. They acknowledged that parenting styles vary based on the child’s temperament, emphasizing that different kids may need different approaches.
A few Millennials expressed discomfort with how casually some of their peers say they dislike children. They find it troubling that while many Millennials pride themselves on being inclusive, they still react negatively to the sounds made by children in public spaces.
Finally, Millennials have created some questionable internet slang that future generations might find puzzling. One example given was the term “spoopy,” which some admitted is cringeworthy.
What do you think about these admissions from Millennials?
