Tug of war is a challenging game that requires strength, power, and focus. Usually, successful tug of war teams include athletes or individuals with considerable muscle. One might think a group of firefighters would easily win. However, that was not the case in a TikTok video shared by Pat Riot from September 2025. In the video, he and other firefighters faced off against a 5-year-old girl in a tug of war during a Banana Ball game in San Diego. Pat noted that they lost the match in front of a crowd of 40,000 people.
The firefighters struggled against the young girl, who quickly emerged victorious. Many viewers enjoyed the moment, with some commenting on how it was embarrassing for the firefighters. One suggested that they might have needed a few more team members to improve their chances. Others pointed out that the girl likely wasn’t using all of her strength.
Seeing the girl win brought smiles to many. One viewer thought it was great that the firefighters understood the situation and noted that it empowered her. Another comment highlighted her playful attitude, saying she was ready to take on the challenge. Some commenters dismissed criticisms and emphasized the importance of letting the child enjoy the experience and believe in her abilities.
Overall, the interaction at the Banana Ball game brought joy to many fans. What do you think about this tug of war match?
