Adults often work hard to be funny. They share clever jokes with friends, spend time perfecting their stand-up acts, and some even earn a lot of money making others laugh. However, children have a unique natural ability to be funny that stands out. A collection of amusing situations involving kids has been shared, showcasing how these little ones make even everyday moments entertaining for their parents.
Kids often bring laughter without realizing it, stating the first thing that comes to their minds. At times, they intentionally say funny things, but their creativity can be so surprising that it makes people wish they could understand their thoughts. Researchers have studied how children’s humor develops, showing a great interest in this area.

Young children start to find humor much earlier than many expect. A study from the University of Bristol involved parents of 671 children from four different countries. The results revealed that some babies find things like silly noises and funny faces amusing when they’re just one month old. By the time they are two months old, many start laughing at their parents’ playful behaviors, and by 11 months, some even attempt to make others laugh.
As kids grow, their sense of humor becomes more complex. By age two, they start recognizing social norms and what is typical. This allows them to create humor by intentionally breaking those expectations. For instance, they might wear underwear on their heads or say that a pig goes “moo.” Studies suggest that toddlers can even invent their own jokes instead of just mimicking what adults say.
Parents also share funny stories about their children. One parent mentioned their middle child creating a unique “Emergency Kit” for the car when he was around ten years old. Another recalled a Halloween costume from 1979, noting how their older sister made it for them, and they looked quite unhappy about it.
An amusing moment shared by a parent involved their two-year-old believing that snowmen make a roaring sound. After going through common animal sounds, the mother asked her child what sound a snowman makes. The child immediately replied with “ROAR!” This unexpected answer wasn’t a one-time event, as they continued to get the same response whenever they asked about the snowman sound for weeks after.
