Many of our choices are made with thought and planning, but sometimes we feel things without really knowing why, like intuition. When people experience this inner voice, some choose to listen, while others may ignore it. A person on X asked users to share their scariest gut feelings that they followed, along with what happened next. The stories shared are unsettling yet demonstrate the strength of this sixth sense.
One individual recounted dating a man for a month when they fell ill with the flu and had to cancel a date. The man insisted on coming over to take care of her, even though he was much larger than she was. She suggested going out for soup, drove him there, and then hurried back to pack a bag and take her cat to her parents’ home. Her neighbor later informed her that he came back for two days, banging on her front door.
Another story involved a person walking their dog along a familiar path when they suddenly heard their late grandmother’s voice urging them to turn down a different street. Feeling compelled, they followed the direction and soon witnessed a chaotic scene where a car was hijacked, and people were screaming. They found safety behind a parked van, realizing that if they hadn’t turned, they would have been right in the middle of the incident.
In a third account, a college student attended a party with a friend, knowing few others there. They felt secure bringing their own drinks and driving themselves home if needed. While at the party, the atmosphere in the basement became more wild. The student felt fine initially but then suddenly felt very out of control. They became aware that something was wrong and decided to lean on the two guys nearby for help to the bathroom. Afterward, they noticed the two guys were waiting for them and felt uneasy. The student walked with another girl, pretending to comfort her, while searching for a way out. Despite their efforts to get the girl to leave with them, she stayed with her boyfriend. Eventually, the student found the front door, crawled to their car, and drove away slowly, wanting to distance themselves from the party.
