A pastor confronted a biker about his vest during a church service. The biker, who was 72 years old, sat in the last pew of a small church near Dayton, Ohio. He had traveled 640 miles from Amarillo and felt the strain on his back. It had been nearly thirty years since he visited a church. He sat quietly with his hands folded, wearing his old leather vest over a clean flannel shirt, and he intended no trouble. Inside the vest was an envelope he had kept for nineteen years, worn soft from years of travel.
The pastor, around forty-five years old, was tall and spoke gently. About ten minutes into his sermon, he paused and looked directly at the biker. He stated that the church was a house of God and insisted that the biker either remove his vest or leave. The other attendees turned to look. A woman nearby pulled her child closer, seemingly worried.

The biker considered taking off the vest but decided against it. He told the pastor that he would remain quiet but would keep the vest on.
What do you think about the pastor’s request?
