Taylor Wilson, a homeowner in Alabama, had a disappointing Halloween when two women took nearly all the candy she had left outside for trick-or-treaters. A video of the incident went viral over the weekend, attracting a lot of criticism. The situation became more serious when viewers identified one of the women as an employee of Sakana, a Japanese restaurant.
Initially, the restaurant did not plan to take action after hearing that the woman had apologized to Wilson. However, they later found out that this apology was false, which led to consequences for the employee. In the video, one of the women was seen wearing a Sakana shirt. The footage was shared with a message criticizing the adults for taking most of the candy and leaving little for the children. The person who posted the video tagged Sakana, asking if the woman was one of their employees.

Sakana released a statement confirming that the woman was indeed one of its off-duty employees and stated that they would investigate the matter. They emphasized that they take such incidents seriously and do not condone behavior that harms children or the community. They also thanked social media users for bringing the situation to their attention.
After reviewing the incident, Sakana announced that they had spoken to the employee in the video, who claimed she had apologized to Wilson and returned the candy. However, Wilson later clarified that she had only received an apology from the other woman in the video. This led the restaurant to confirm that their employee had lied about the apology.
Due to this dishonesty, Sakana decided to terminate the employee’s position, stating that lying was unacceptable. A spokesperson for the restaurant explained that they had previously communicated the importance of the matter to the employee.
In a separate incident, a Burger King employee was filmed wearing blackface while serving customers. In the video, a customer confronted the worker about their appearance, and the employee responded inappropriately. This worker is now under investigation, but their identity has not been revealed. Burger King has not confirmed which location was involved, although it has been reported that the incident occurred at a branch in Faribault, Minnesota.
