Farewell, my Dearest Son.

Farewell, my Dearest Son.

It has been three days since the farewell. The absence feels deep. Julian was the kindest pet I’ve ever known and just wanted affection. Over the last month, I noticed he was eating less and seemed more tired. I thought his asthma was acting up, and we had just begun treatment for it. His breathing was labored, and I believed we needed a bit more time for the medication to take effect. However, a part of me sensed something was wrong. On Friday, I took him to the vet and returned home with an empty carrier. Julian had fluid in his chest, which was putting pressure on his lungs. It was a serious situation. He had already faced many health issues this year, and I felt unable to subject him to a risky procedure that might only improve his quality of life slightly. Everywhere I turn, whether I am folding laundry or finding his toys in unexpected spots, it hurts. Julian enjoyed warm laundry, tubes, and especially our cuddle times in the afternoon and before bed. I’m struggling with the sadness I feel. Any suggestions would be appreciated.
