During the flight, Lefman reached through the gap between the seats, touching the girl inappropriately. The girl, whose name has not been released, noticed his reflection in the seat monitor, which helped her realize what was happening. She recorded a video showing Lefman’s fingers reaching through the seat, which later served as evidence in the case.
After noticing the inappropriate behavior, a relative of the girl, who was seated in another row, confronted Lefman and reported the incident to a JetBlue supervisor, sharing the video as proof.
