Toddlers are known for being energetic and delightful, bringing joy with their small size, developing language skills, and growing understanding of their surroundings. Their vivid imaginations make spending time with young children a fun experience. Parenting a toddler is a special phase that doesn’t last long, so it is important to cherish it. One dad, Christophe Kyle, has embraced this stage with his daughter Ava, who is 18 months old. Ava recently hosted a meal for her dad at her pretend restaurant. However, Kyle mentioned that the service could be improved.

On Instagram, Kyle posted a picture of Ava in her play kitchen while he waited at a small table for his meal. He shared his honest thoughts about the experience. He said he wanted to support a Black-owned business called Ava’s Kitchen, which had just opened at the end of April. Kyle noted that the place was very clean but expressed some frustration with the service. He mentioned asking Ava why there were balloons on his chair since it wasn’t his birthday, to which she responded to mind his own business as the balloons were for her mother. He also said he waited 45 minutes for his order as he was the only customer, and during that time, the owner paused to watch Paw Patrol for 20 minutes. He concluded that while the customer service needed work, the cook was cute, and he hoped others would not give up on Black businesses after one mistake.

People on the internet enjoyed this dad’s funny take on the situation and appreciated his parenting. Many who have joined in toddler activities understand that while it can be adorable, it also requires patience. The website Upworthy shared Kyle’s post on their Instagram, and many people commented. Some joked about the challenges of starting a restaurant and encouraged giving Ava another chance. Others mentioned the difficulties of operating a restaurant during a pandemic.

Fans of the show Paw Patrol also shared their thoughts, calling it a must-watch and expressing their enjoyment of the show even without kids. Some commented on how cute the entire scene was, praising the little owner and the father’s humor. Others highlighted the importance of the bond between Ava and her dad, noting it would help her view men positively as she grows.

Kyle later posted a picture showing a lineup of stuffed animals outside of Ava’s Kitchen. Since then, he and Ava have explored other creative activities, like building projects at Home Depot’s free monthly Kids Workshop. As Ava grows, it remains to be seen whether she will become a restaurant owner, carpenter, or pursue something entirely different, but with her dad’s encouragement, she is likely to find success wherever she goes.
