Halloween is just around the corner, bringing along its familiar lineup of witches, ghosts, and other spooky characters. However, cartoonist Doug Hill, who shares his creations under the Laughing Hippo Studio name, takes a different approach. In his comics, even the Grim Reaper faces awkward moments, and supernatural beings encounter everyday challenges similar to those of regular people. Hill has been making cartoons since 1972 and has spent much of his career combining his art with teaching. In a previous conversation with Bored Panda about his Halloween-themed humor, he mentioned that spooky characters show up in his work during the season, but sometimes ideas just come to him.
