She noticed that other moms on social media were dressing up more for graduations than parents did during her own graduation.
In her fun video, Buwick tried on several outfits but found that none worked well for her. Some were too short or didn’t fit right. She turned these outfit mishaps into entertaining content, but many viewers had opinions on her choices. Some comments were harsh, with one person suggesting she should shop in an age-appropriate section to avoid embarrassing her son.
Instead of letting the negative comments affect her, Buwick created another video showing what she thought were more suitable outfits for a mom attending her child’s graduation. She mentioned that many viewers were disturbed by her previous choices and that they were not suitable for her age of 37. In this follow-up, she wore a long gown with sleeves and even sang while trying on another outfit inspired by The Sound of Music. Ultimately, that outfit didn’t make the cut either, because it didn’t fit her criteria.
In a later video, after her son’s graduation, Buwick shared her final choice: a stylish combination of dress shorts, a tank top, and a bright blazer. While some might still disagree with her look, she managed to handle the criticism with humor. It seems impossible to find an outfit that pleases everyone, as different people always have differing opinions. Buwick’s real achievement was not about finding the perfect outfit but rather about deciding how she wanted to present herself for her son’s special day.
