My cat cannot stand a closed door. What should I do?

The issue involves a cat that cannot tolerate closed doors. Whenever a door is shut in the house, she fixates on it. She scratches at the door, which causes it to shake in the frame and creates a lot of noise. If scratching doesn’t work, she even starts to slam against the door, making even more noise. This behavior is quite frustrating for her owner.

The owner, who gets up early, needs to close the door between the bedroom and the living room to use lights and electronic devices without disturbing a partner who is a light sleeper. The cat, named Coven, seems to take offense to the door being closed. It does not matter what side of the door she is on or what is behind the closed door; she reacts with anger. When the owner opens the door for her, she immediately begins the same noisy behavior again within half a minute on the opposite side.

Attempts to distract Coven with food, treats, or catnip have been unsuccessful. The owner feels overwhelmed and is looking for suggestions to reduce this behavior. Does anyone have advice on how to handle this situation?
