Animals are often seen as the funniest part of the internet, even though none of them write jokes. For instance, a cat knocking your drink off the counter while staring at you isn’t trying to be funny. Similarly, a dog that chewed up a sock and looks upset about being caught isn’t performing for laughs. They are simply being themselves, and their natural behaviors can seem quite silly. The Instagram account Animal Memes provides what pets cannot: clever captions. In these posts, cats are depicted as tough landlords, while dogs are shown as eager workers who don’t understand their roles. Occasionally, other animals join in for a funny moment. This works well because many pet owners can relate to these scenarios, often having experienced similar situations themselves. A collection of the best posts from the page has been put together. Viewers are encouraged to scroll down and share in the comments which one reminds them most of their own pet.
