Police were seen at the home of Brian Hickerson on Tuesday morning, August 19, shortly after news broke that he was with Hayden Panettiere when she died. Officers visited the Greenville residence owned by his grandmother, Betty Ellison, twice within a few hours, raising questions about the reason for their visits.
According to Page Six, police cars were observed outside the property around 8:20 a.m. An officer knocked on the front door multiple times but received no response, then tried the side door. The officers left after about three minutes, with Zach, Brian’s brother, reportedly inside the house at the time.

About ninety minutes later, authorities returned to check on someone’s well-being but did not specify who it was for. They left again after approximately ten minutes. Betty’s house, where the blinds were closed throughout the morning, is located about five miles from where Hayden, 36, was found dead on Sunday from a suspected overdose.
TMZ later reported that police were investigating Hayden’s death to see if any criminal activity contributed to her passing. However, the Greenville Police Department initially indicated there were no signs of foul play. A police representative informed People that officers were responding to a welfare check call related to Brian’s family home, which was not linked to the investigation of Hayden’s death.
Brian’s relationship with Hayden had a history of domestic violence allegations, several arrests, and legal issues. He was reportedly asleep in the bedroom when Zach found Hayden unresponsive in the living room. After they called 911, emergency responders attempted to revive her but were unsuccessful, and she was pronounced dead at 2:32 p.m.
An incident report revealed that Zach referred to Hayden as his brother’s girlfriend, but the details of their relationship remain unclear. When emergency workers began advanced life support for Hayden, Brian showed them a bag of medication that she had been using. Zach became very emotional during the situation, while Brian reportedly broke down after Hayden’s death was confirmed.
Just before these events, Hayden’s body was transferred to a mortuary following its release to her family on August 18. After her death, her mother, Lesley Vogel, told NBC News that the family had been trying to separate Hayden from Brian for a long time, expressing concern about his influence on her.
Hayden is survived by her 11-year-old daughter, Kaya, with her ex-fiancé, Wladimir Klitschko. What are your thoughts on this situation?
