TMZ reported that Seaver’s firing is part of a growing conflict regarding Dolly’s estate. They obtained a termination notice that stated Seaver and his security companies were dismissed from all properties owned by Dolly, effective immediately. Sources revealed that this notice was given on September 16, just as new security personnel arrived at her Nashville home. This new team also took over her museum, downtown residence, and warehouse.
In reaction to his dismissal, Seaver and his team expressed their disappointment to TMZ, indicating they were troubled by the actions taken since Dolly’s passing. They mentioned being uplifted by the public’s love for Dolly and her message. They stated that they remain determined to protect her family and will not be intimidated by those they believe are acting with bad intentions to profit from Dolly’s legacy.
According to TMZ, the termination letter revealed that Dolly’s properties and business interests are managed by the DP Dean Trust. Even though Seaver has lost his security role, the letter confirms that he still has personal interests in the trust.
On September 22, it was reported that Dolly’s estate received a restraining order against Seaver. Documents obtained by People allege that he had made threats and discussed weapons prior to his firing. A memorandum filed for the restraining order claimed that Seaver started making threats and trying to intimidate people when he thought Dolly’s death could be near. It alleged that he mentioned his military experience and access to weapons to try to get money from her estate.
Dolly Parton died on August 25, 2026, at the age of 80. Following her death, Seaver shared a video confirming the sad news. He mentioned that this video was something Dolly had asked him to do long ago and expressed the gravity of the moment for him.
