TV personality Maura Higgins has shared her experiences on Dancing With the Stars, particularly focusing on a challenging week she faced. The contestant from Season 25, partnered with dance professional Mark Ballas, posted on Instagram about her struggles during what she described as her toughest week in the competition. She mentioned feeling unwell, lacking energy, and trying to learn two dances but emphasized that she put in her full effort.
Higgins highlighted that she approached this competition knowing she wasn’t a dancer or a performer but wanted to step out of her comfort zone and give her best. She acknowledged that some weeks would be more difficult than others and expressed her acceptance of that reality. According to her, the purpose of her sharing was not to seek sympathy, but to give insight into the challenges behind the scenes. She stressed the importance of showing up, giving it your all, and being proud of the effort.

She expressed gratitude towards Ballas, noting his support throughout her journey on the show, especially during tough times. Higgins felt lucky to have him as a partner and thanked her supporters for their encouragement. She remarked on her pride in continuing despite challenges and looked forward to improving, even joking about her feelings towards the Jive dance.
During Disney Night on November 2, Higgins and Ballas performed the Jive to “You Can Fly! You Can Fly! You Can Fly!” They received a score of 32 out of 40, placing them at the bottom of the leaderboard for Week 8. In a conversation with Us Weekly, Higgins mentioned the difficulties she encountered but was relieved that she completed the performance. She reflected on moments when she felt unable to perform but was proud that she persevered.
