Finnish heavy metal band Nightwish announced last month that Floor Jansen, their longtime singer, has officially left the group. In an Instagram post on October 16, the band shared that they had mutually agreed to part ways with Jansen. They noted that this choice was important for both their individual paths and future projects. The band members expressed their best wishes for each other’s artistic journeys, stating that this marks the end of a significant chapter for them.
Despite Jansen’s exit, Nightwish indicated they plan to continue creating music and will go into the studio in 2027 to work on a new album. They mentioned their excitement about celebrating 30 years of Nightwish and looking forward to the music they will create.

Jansen joined Nightwish as the lead vocalist in 2013, after touring with them the year before. Following the announcement of her departure, Jansen shared her own thoughts, saying that endings can lead to new beginnings. She mentioned that while it was a difficult choice, she is looking forward to her future musical journey. Jansen invited her supporters to join her in this new phase and thanked them for their continued support. She also noted that she will focus on her solo career, which includes her upcoming album Hytress, set for release in 2027, and a future tour.
