A resident of Birchwood Lane called the police after seeing a biker carrying his neighbor’s wife out of her house late at night. The caller, who has lived in the neighborhood for over thirty years, described himself as someone who knows every detail of the area. He felt uneasy when the biker moved in across the street last spring due to the loud motorcycle and tattoos.
That night, he was unable to sleep because of a sore knee and was sitting in the dark by his front window with a cup of decaf coffee. He noticed the biker coming out of Tom and Lisa Brennan’s house, holding Lisa in his arms. She was wrapped in a gray blanket, and her feet were hanging down, appearing unresponsive. The man felt concerned since he hadn’t seen Lisa outside in a long time.

He informed the dispatcher that a man was kidnapping his neighbor and provided details about the house and the biker. Police arrived quickly, and he stepped out onto his porch. He saw the biker sitting on the curb with Lisa across his lap, rocking her gently. Tom then came out of the house, looking like he had just woken up, and told the officers that the biker had broken into his house and taken his wife.
Both police officers drew their weapons and instructed the biker to put Lisa down. He laid her on the grass and placed his hands behind his head, suggesting the officers check the basement door, which he claimed was bolted from the outside. Tom laughed and told the officers that he knew them, explaining that Lisa was not well because she had stopped taking her medication and sometimes wandered at night. He said he had locked the basement door to keep her safe.
The officers then arrested the biker without resistance. The caller stepped off his porch to inform the police that he was the one who made the call. One of the officers thanked him for his actions. The biker looked tired as he watched from the police car. The younger officer remained by Lisa’s side, placing his jacket under her head for comfort. The caller approached to help, kneeling in the wet grass. Up close, he noticed that Lisa did not look like the kind neighbor he remembered; her lips were cracked, her cheeks sunken, and her nails were broken.
