A family in Houston faced a tragic situation on Tuesday, September 29, after Cibelle Savella took the life of her four-year-old daughter, Vivian. This incident occurred shortly after Cibelle lost a legal battle for custody against her estranged husband, Aaron. Reports indicate that Cibelle used a gun during the event, leading to widespread anger and disbelief on social media.

Cibelle and Aaron were married from 2020 to 2024. Since then, Cibelle has reportedly been in a relationship with Greg Kubala, who operates a Chick-fil-A franchise. It is unclear if this new relationship contributed to her losing custody of Vivian, but the restrictions imposed have been criticized by many online users.

According to the Daily Mail, Cibelle was informed earlier that same day that she could only see her daughter under the supervision of Guardians of Home, an organization that assists families dealing with difficult custody situations. Additionally, she was not allowed to speak to Vivian in Portuguese and had no input regarding her education, healthcare, or mental health. The judge also decided that Cibelle could not attend any of her daughter’s school functions.

Later that day, at around 5:45 p.m., first responders arrived at Cibelle’s residence after receiving a distress call. They discovered Vivian deceased with at least one gunshot wound, while Cibelle, injured but alive, was taken to the hospital. Cibelle remained in treatment until Thursday afternoon when she passed away.

Reactions online supported the court’s decision to grant custody to Aaron. Users shared their opinions, with some stating that the judge made the right decision in giving the dad custody.

Aaron released a statement through his legal representatives describing Vivian as a child “loved without limits.” He expressed deep sorrow about what had been taken from him and his family. His attorneys mentioned that Aaron had been compliant with all legal proceedings to protect his child, but those efforts ultimately were not enough. They noted that Vivian was supposed to return home to her father on the evening of her tragic death.

The legal team urged the public to recognize the many fathers who strive quietly and legally to safeguard their kids, emphasizing that their stories often go untold. They also thanked those who reached out with support while requesting privacy during this hard time.
