A friend was heading to the writer’s house to create a costume for a horse. After being nearly an hour late, she called to say she had found a kitten crying in her yard. She thought about taking it to a shelter but decided to come to the writer first since she couldn’t keep it for family reasons. The writer suggested taking the kitten in, believing they could quickly find it a home. They invited friends over to meet the kitten, but everyone had reasons they couldn’t come. The writer took the kitten to the vet for vaccinations and to confirm its gender, which turned out to be male. Friends praised the benefits of having male cats. Over time, the kitten grew bolder and began to play with the writer’s dogs, including a German shepherd that was initially frightened of him. Reddit played a role in finding a home for the kitten, who is now named Tybalt, Prince of Cats. What do you think about the new name?
