Pamela Anderson has embraced self-acceptance and the idea of aging gracefully. The 59-year-old actress, known for her role in Baywatch, has adopted a mostly no-makeup philosophy in 2023. Throughout the 1990s, she was celebrated for her glamorous looks, but she has since expressed her views on changing beauty standards. Her choice to stop wearing makeup was influenced by the death of her long-time makeup artist, Alexis Vogel, in 2019. Anderson felt that losing Vogel changed her perspective on beauty and made her realize that it was better for her to avoid makeup.
In September 2023, she showcased her natural look at Paris Fashion Week. Anderson noted that she feels more comfortable in her own skin and wants to challenge traditional beauty norms. She described her choice to go makeup-free as freeing, fun, and a little rebellious, especially in a world where many people opt for heavy makeup looks. Anderson also aimed to break away from stereotypes associated with her name, expressing that her journey—from Playboy to Baywatch—has led her back to self-love and acceptance.

Aging played a role in her decision to stop wearing makeup. Anderson remarked that as people age, they start to look different, and she finds humor in her own changes. She feels good about her current situation and has more time to explore her interests since she is not focused on conforming to beauty standards. Anderson believes this choice has allowed her to feel liberated and happy in her own skin.
While she mostly avoids makeup, Anderson is open to wearing it occasionally. For example, she wore a smoky eye for Vogue World: Milano 2026. She shared that she appreciates makeup and has recently completed a project where she wore it extensively and enjoyed the experience. Additionally, Anderson has launched a skincare line called Sonsie, which is clean, vegan, and cruelty-free. One of her favorite products is Sonsie’s Basic Balm, which she pairs with mascara for a glam look.
