The cat is very sick, so she can’t go outside, even though she enjoys being in the garden. Earlier today, someone knocked on the door, claiming to be with a program for young offenders and trying to sell some products. Normally, the owner does not buy from door-to-door sellers and usually says no right away. However, she felt sympathetic towards him and almost made a purchase when her cat suddenly ran to the door. She quickly shut the door and explained that she could not buy anything because she couldn’t risk her cat going outside.
Later, feeling uneasy about the situation, she looked up the seller online and discovered that he might be part of a group that scams people. They also could be scouting homes for burglary. She informed her neighbor, who mentioned that the police had received several reports about the seller in the area. She is thankful that her cat came to the door just in time. If she had made a purchase, her home could have been seen as an easy target for this gang in the future. What do you think about door-to-door sales?
