Roxanne, a six-year-old tabby cat, has never been left alone for more than one day. Her owners do not allow her to eat freely from dry food; instead, she only gets wet meals and uses a puzzle feeder. Recently, one owner had to go on a work trip while the other had a family emergency and had to leave town simultaneously. They were unable to find someone to watch Roxanne, which made them quite anxious. They do have a pet camera, and one owner instructed the other to place two dishes of kibble each day, plus extra dishes in case they were delayed. After returning from the airport, they were surprised to see how well Roxanne managed her food. They noted that cats handle themselves differently than dogs and were impressed by how organized she was with her eating routine. Submitted by /u/Zuikite. What do you think about how pets manage when their owners are away?
