The internet is skilled at noticing even the smallest details, especially during a celebrity Halloween party. Hailee Steinfeld and Josh Allen held an Alice in Wonderland-themed celebration recently, which attracted attention on Instagram. They aimed to create a magical atmosphere, but some users pointed out a possible mistake in the decorations.
The Buffalo Bills quarterback, 30, and Steinfeld, 29, hosted the event the day after the Bills won a game against the Baltimore Ravens with a score of 36-10. Many of Allen’s teammates and their partners joined the festivities. Steinfeld dressed as the Queen of Hearts, while Allen took on the role of the King of Hearts.
The party venue was decorated to resemble Wonderland, featuring large playing cards and themed displays, along with an elaborate entrance tunnel. One decoration was a giant Queen of Hearts card that had Steinfeld’s face on it, while Allen had a corresponding King of Hearts card. Another display included the phrase, “We’re all mad here.”
However, the sign at the entrance that welcomed guests to “Allen’s in Wonderland” caught the attention of online users, who debated the use of the apostrophe. Some expressed concern about the grammar, suggesting that “Allen is in Wonderland” would have been clearer.
One user noted that the grammatical error actually added humor to the sign, implying that it felt like an inside joke that the designer had not explained. Another commenter pointed out that neither Steinfeld’s nor Allen’s profession typically highlighted strong grammar skills.
Aside from the grammar issue, some people criticized the use of what they believed to be AI-generated artwork in the decorations, particularly the playing cards that featured the couple as Wonderland royalty. Comments included complaints about the perceived lack of authenticity, with one user suggesting that it was better to hire a real artist than to use AI.
Despite the negative comments online, guests at the party, including Buffalo Bills players Dion Dawkins, DJ Moore, and Bradley Chubb, seemed to enjoy the Halloween spirit as they arrived in their own creative costumes. Moore’s wife, Raven, shared pictures, showing her dressed as Violet Beauregarde from Charlie and the Chocolate Factory, while Moore appeared as Augustus Gloop. Dawkins was dressed as Sideshow Bob from The Simpsons.
What did you think of the decorations and the costumes at the party?
