Rapper Flyysoulja, known for being part of the Island Boys, is recovering after being hospitalized due to an overdose involving several substances. He shared with TMZ that the incident happened on October 29 when he took illegal substance, benzodiazepines, and Percocet while celebrating his recent purchase of a new condo and car. In addition to his hospitalization, Flyysoulja, whose real name is Alex Venegas, mentioned that he was also placed under the Baker Act, which is a Florida law allowing for involuntary mental health evaluations.
He spent four days in the hospital following this medical emergency. Flyysoulja had previously been placed under the Baker Act in November 2025 after experiencing a drug-related psychotic episode at his home in Miami, Florida. During that time, he admitted to using various substances and causing chaos without realizing he was live-streaming the events. After this episode, he emphasized that his issues were related to substance abuse rather than mental health problems, although he expressed gratitude for the support he received.
About two months later, he entered rehab, stating he was ready to detox and seek the help he needed. He acknowledged that he had been through this process before but intended to take it more seriously this time. Flyysoulja and his twin brother Franky, known as Kodiyakredd, gained fame with their 2021 hit “I’m an Island Boy” and have since released two studio albums, titled 17 and Trendsetters. The duo continues to be active on TikTok and is known for their conflicts with various internet personalities, including rapper Blueface and podcasters Adam22 and the Paul brothers, Logan and Jake. What are your thoughts on this situation?
